System L Found i L Fix for Fortis Bank
L Fix system is an advanced web application used for processing transactions of purchase, conversion and discontinuation of participation units in foreign investment funds Fortis L Fund and Fortis L Fix. It enables cooperation of advisors located in various branches with the Bank’s headquarters. The data from orders entered by the advisors are sent to the database in the headquarters, where they are verified and subjected to further processing. The system has a function of generating numerous reports on the basis of the collected data, i.e. charging of a commission in compliance with previously determined thresholds, calculation of dividend due to the Clients, tracing the transaction history and current evaluation of the Client’s portfolio. It also enables on-line access to specific data for the branch offices of Fortis Bank Polska S.A. and other financial institutions distributing participation titles in foreign investment funds Fortis L Fund and L Fix.
The scope of the project fully implemented by WebService included:
- Comprehensive pre-implementation analysis;
- Designing new user interfaces;
- Designing a new database and migration of data from the old version of the application;
- Programming works, including integration works;
- Implementation.
The solution was prepared on the basis of the .NET platform and Microsoft SQL Server database environment.
The most important elements of the project with respect to technical aspects were:
- Proposing adequately secure architecture for the application that is dispersed geographically and organisationally;
- Integration of server layers with the use of SOAP and WS-Security;
- Implementation of financial algorithms used in the application;
- Integration with catalogue service available at the bank.
